Tight security at the Stadium

PVFA has requested the services of Vanuatu Mobile Force to take over the security of the two national stadiums to provide safety to all soccer referees, players and fans.

President of the PVFA Mr. Chris Kaltabang said, “The clubs taking part in the two competitions, Challengers Battle and National Super League are very strong and we have to make sure that all match officials, players and supporters are safe and enjoy the beautiful game of football.”

At Korman Stadium tight Security officers stand guard outside and inside for the first time, when Erakor Golden Stars play Siwi FC.
At PV stadium more Force members provided tight security from Saturday morning till late to ensure no untoward incident takes place before, during and after each game.
A security check was put in place and every one was physically frisked by the Vanuatu Mobile Force before they were allowed entry into the stadium.
“The security that we have from the Vanuatu Mobile Force are very good,” according to Bong Shem, PVFA Office Secretary.
“For diehard soccer fans in Vanuatu, a safe stadium is their favorite place to watch soccer games or else they go back home to their local gardens on Saturdays and plane vegetables.”
“We had a really bad experience in the O- League match here at PV Stadium four years ago and we don’t want to see that happen again.” Said Bong Shem.
