Shepherds players received special awards

A die-hard supporter of the club kindly donated four (4) brand new football shoes to the club President at the Port Vila Stadium.
During the brisk ceremony the players witnessed a hand-over of four brand new football boots to four of the club’s young and uprising stars that include Jason Whitford, as best U-20 striker, Eric Sam as youngest player, Albert Apia as most consistent player, and Richard Ben selected as the most improved player, all stood tall as they received their new boots with big smiles, courtesy of club supporter Ephraim Songi.
While words of remarks and appreciation responded in return by the club’s officials, coach Wilson August told vanuafoot.
“The new football boots were provided to the selected players as their consistency at trainings.”
“The club also believe the shoes whilst will be worn by the players during matches, is an added incentive to upgrade and further develop the young boys soccer skills, and also go a long way to assist in instilling a disciplined mind for sportsmanship model for future Shepherds FC players.” Said Mr. Wilson August.
Witnessing the occasion were media officers and United’s committee members, the clubs’s players and fans.
Following the presentation ceremony, United took the field in the final match of the day, against first division Siaraga FC to open its account for the Port Vila Shield Tournament which the boys in Black and White comfortably won by 4-2.
