VFF under 17 Girls Competition Kicks off

This launch of this competition highlights the stated commitment of the Vanuatu Football Federation to strengthen women’s football in Port Vila by increasing the number of girls playing the sport and the number of females involved in the sport in general.
It is a seven aside competition in two different pools and last Saturday saw five games played at Amicale Field from 9am to 12pm.
The two winners of the semi-finals will advance to the final to compete for the VFF Under-17 Girls Competition. The two losers of the semi-final will play off for third place.
“These teams received tremendous support from football lovers and we felt that it was the right time to bring the young girls into the beautiful game of football. Said Rorona Kalsakau, Vanuatu Football Women’s Development Officer.
