Vanuafoot > News > TVL Premier League 2012 > AMICALE CHAMPIONS again

Even if on paper this looks like the easiest title for the Red Roster, it’s not like that at all beginning of the season. It was very, very difficult and required an immense effort from every player.
But today the pressure is gone from all Amicale players, Management and their fans as the Red Roster sail away for another victorious celebration before Christmas.
Amicale were absolutely great in the whole match and dominated all areas in the field of play and give no chance to Seveners United players to break through.
Vanuatu club champion still have one more game against Tafea but today they can celebrate the fourth consecutive title of TVL Premier League in Port Vila.
Things didn’t look good for the Reds in the first half, but Coach Philrmon John knew exactly how to tackle the situation. In the second half, the team showed great maturity and adapted to the circumstances; ball retention became even more proprietary, spectacular performances from Kensi Tangis, Fenedy Masauvakalo and Brazilian Jefferson Moura.
“The victories kept coming thanks to the huge effort and determination from the players, and the league title is here again.” Said club President Jean Yves Chabod.
Once again, humble, hard and honest work paid off, as Amicale retain their fourth Port Vila title, knowing, however, that it will only get tougher in the VFF National Super League next year in March.
This season, though, it’s mission accomplished. Time for Fenedy Masauvakalo, Kensi Tangis, Nelson Sale, Alphonse Bongnaim and Jefferson Moura maybe to step back and give the youngsters an opportunity in the final league match this Saturday against Tafea FC.
It will be the last effort for Amicale players in a truly brilliant season before some very well earned holidays.
For now, it’s time to celebrate. Amicale are champions of Port Vila Football Association…again! Allez Amicale Light the Fire…….
