VFF U-17 Championships results Day- One

Despite having a tough opening day as far as results go, teams performed excellently on Day One of the competition today at Amicale Field in Port Vila.
Academy beat Yatel 4-1 in thei first match and all crdit goes to the young striker Bule Andrew who scores three goals and one from Iwai Sam. Only Yatel goal comes from Johnson Nahum Iin the second half.
In other results,Amicale U 17 team beat North Efate United 4-2. Lenoy Leo, Matias Johnna, Moise John and Robert Bulerane all score one goal each to help the Reds . North Efate United two goals comes from Laban Steohen .
The last game of the day saw Ifira Black Burd U-17 beat Narak Tegapu 3-1. Ifira goals comes from Steven Matoutorua, Yannick Kalonikua and Alickson Napakaurana.
Narak’s only goal in the match comes from Jerry Nako.
Competition Manager Florian Sam said that he was happy with the performances of all six teams in day one and VFF coaches has identified few U-17 players for Academy.
“The performance of the teams was excellent. The purpose of the tournament is to get as many players as we can identified and into the national framework,” he said.
Sam also said that Technical Director Christian Chosson and CEO Fabien Hoeppe had both commented on the vast improvement of the teams playing so well today.
“Selectors don’t care about results, they watch players and select them based on how well they perform their individual roles within a system and thank you to Au Bon Marche for their sponsorship of the first ever U-17 Competition in Vila ,” he said.
