C License coaching course gets underway

The coaching course that opens on Monday this week run for a week, is taking place at the Teouma Academy , VFF football academy centre.
“We are delighted to host this important course. Thanks to the participants for being here to upgrade their skills so we can together upgrade the sport in this country.” Said Charles Vatu, VFF Technical Director.
The 35 participants will undergo theoretical and practical training under the guidance of qualified OFC coaching instructor, Didier Chambaron.
As an OFC “C Licence” this course targets those coaches who have successfully completed “D Licence” whilst demonstrating an ability to coach players at a senior level. This course is an accredited program under the auspices of Oceania Football Confederation Coach Accreditation Scheme.
Three main Objectives for the course are:
1. To prepare coaches working with Senior players by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the developmental process necessary for players of these ages.
2. To provide an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.
3. To prepare coaches for whom this represents their final coaching course as well as those who plan to pursue an advanced OFC Coaching License.
There will be an assessment process running throughout the totality of the course which will be both formative and summative. Each candidate will be examined in his/her practical coaching ability, laws of the game and understanding of the theory content of the course.
Participants who pass this course will receive OFC ‘C’ licence which will be valid for 4 years. For acceptance to “B” Licence, which is the advanced level of OFC coaching accreditation scheme, will require an “advanced pass” in this C License.
