Vanuatu opens tournament against Tahiti

Vanuatu have been traning since December 1 2010 and hoping that this year’s tournament will be a good one for the yellows.
Coach Richard Iwai said that all the boys have been really faithfull until today in training but he really misses the service of Fenedy Masauvakalo and Derek Malas.
The duos have been outstanding in three OFC Beach Soccer Tournament and their reason of missing out from the squad is because they played with Amicale FC and their next O League match is against Lautoka on the 27 February 2011 in Port Vila.
Confirmation of the Draw and date is from 22 – 26 February 2011
The teams were drawn from places 1 to 4 with the results of the draw and subsequent match schedule below;
1. Solomon Islands
2. Fiji
3. Vanuatu
4. Tahiti
22 February 2011: Solomon vs Fiji, Vanuatu vs Tahiti
23 February 2011: Solomon vs Vanuatu, Fiji vs Tahiti
24 February 2011: Tahiti vs Solomon, Fiji vs Vanuatu
25 February 2011 Rest Day
26 February 2011: 3rd place vs fourth place final
1st Place vs Second place final
“Our boys are working hard at the moment in traning and look forward for the tournament in Tahiti.” said Richard Iwai Vanuatu Beach Soccer Head Coach.
“We need to keep the concentration and keep our focus and try to score more goals against our Islands brothers.”
“I need someone like Fenedy Masauvakalo to score goals for us but I do trust the new boys I have now and we will try again.” Said Richard.
