Schedule set for key competitions

The OFC Women’s Olympic Qualifier will be held in Tonga from 1-9 March while the OFC Men’s Olympic Qualifier will be staged in New Zealand from 16-25 March.
The U-17 and U-20 Women’s Championships, which both act as FIFA World Cup qualifiers, will be played conjointly during the school holidays from 9-14 April in Auckland, New Zealand.
The OFC Executive Committee approved the revised schedule following a review of the events calendar in which a number of factors were considered including participation, logistics, finance and other matters.

OFC WOMEN’S OLYMPIC QUALIFIER 2012
Date: 1-9 March 2012 (Stage 1)

Format: Round robin, semi-finals, finals
Participating teams: 8 American Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand*, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu
*Play-off between winner Stage 1 and New Zealand (seeded through to Stage 2)

Winner will represent OFC at the Olympic Women’s Football Tournament in London from 25 July – 9 August 2012
OFC MEN’S OLYMPIC QUALIFIER 2012
Date: 16-25 March 2012
Venue: New Zealand (Host City TBA)
Format: Round robin, semi-finals, finals
Participating teams: 8 American Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu
Winner will represent OFC at the Olympic Men’s Football Tournament in London from 26 July – 11 August 2012
OFC U-20 WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2012
Date: 9-14 April 2012
Venue: Auckland, New Zealand
Format: Round robin
Participating teams: 4 New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa
Winner will represent OFC at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan from 18 August – 8 September 2012
OFC U-17 WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2012
