Stars through to semis

Erakor skipper Brian Kaltack’s dream to reach the semi final was rewarded after his cousin Tony Kaltack who came in the second half stole the show.
Ifira Black Bird taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Waute Chichirua in 70 minutes but Erakor level the scoreline in 80 minutes when substitute Tony Kaltack fires home a great shot.
Then the show continues as Jemo Joseph hit his first goal for the yellows, pouncing on a rebound off a shot by Brian Kaltack to put Erakor 2-1 Ifira.
Tony Kaltack scored his second goal in the match from close range just one minute before the end of the match to give Erakor a commanding 3-1 lead.
“Draw with Amicale in the first game (last Saturday week) made us stronger,” said Erakor skipper Brian Kaltack a fine player of Vanuatu Footblall.
“Now it’s step by step, I’m only thinking of the semi-final yesterday and now the final of the opening cup.” Said Brian.
Ifira was dominant in the first first half but for all their possession they found no way to break through Erakor’s defense or force serious chances on goal.
Erakor, only needing a draw, started off well and hit the post, then focused mostly on fighting back against Ifira, who kept the ball mainly in the Black’s half and score three beautiful goals to help them sail through to semi- final.
Amicale and Tupuji will fight their way up next Tuesday if they want to reach the semi final.
