McDonald: Woman’s Football will only get better

The Vanuatu U-20 Woman’s team lost to New Zealand 12-0, 4-0 to Papua New Guinea and lost to Tonga in their last match 4-0.
But at the end of the tournament OFC competition department has awarded Vanuatu Woman’s team the Fair play trophy.
“The girls are still U-18 and they have experienced playing in their first ever OFC competition which is really good for them.” Said Tom McDonald.
“They will now prepare for the next OFC U-20 woman’s competition in the next two years and I am sure they will get some good results.”
“After what I saw here is Woman’s football development is getting bigger and stronger in Port Vila and I’m really looking forward to help the girls in the next two years.”
“Teams like New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tonga had a very good woman’s development program and they gave our girls a really good test.”
‘I would say we were smashed badly, but we found a way to open the door to develop woman’s football in the years to come.”
“To walk away with the OFC Fair Play trophy is a great achievement.” Concluded Tom McDonald, Vanuatu National Woman’s U-20 team.
