Academy Girls Champions of U-17

The handing over ceremony of the trophies took place at Amicale field in the presences of the VFF women’s standing committee member Janccinte John and VFF competition manager Florian Sam.
After two months of competition, Academy top the table with 12 points, second Amicale 10 with and third Westam Girls with 8 points.
“Academy girls Winning the first Under 17 competition of the season is great and means that the hard work VFF and our volunteer Tom McDonald has done this great year is worth something.”
“Everyone of the Academy team was performing on good level of football, so we were able to show good examples to other girl’s team in Port Vila.” Said Rorona Kalsakau, VFF Women’s Development Officer.
“Football is not just for boys and today you can see more girls playing football in Vanuatu.” I thank everyone for their contribution this season and I am sure that next year there will be more girls coming to play football in Port Vila.”
“Congratulation to the top three teams and as we are coming close to celebrate Christmas, I take this opportunity to wish all the girls a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2013.” concluded Rorona Kalsakau.
