Port Vila down AS Mont Dore in Friendly

Erakor Golden Star defender and captain of the team Brian Kaltak Marcel hit superb free kick from 35 meters as the ball sailed all the way through to AS Mont Dore’s net.
Erakor super star Jack Niko hits Port Vila second goal before the break as Port Vila led first half 2-0 against New Caledonia Club champions.
AS Mont Dore came back strongly in the second half and scores from a penalty but there was not enough time for them to catch up on the young stars.
The win over AS Mont Dore is truly good news for Port Vila President Christian Kaltabang and his executive members.
“I am really happy again after the victory last night.” The boys really played with their hearts and they again showed to all New Caledonia football players and fans that football is really coming up in Port Vila.”
“I want to congratulate our young boys for an outstanding performance and they have done well and made all Port Vila City proud” said Christian Kaltabang.
Head coach Peter Takaro before the match advices his players to play with enjoyment. “It was a strange match, neither team was better, but it was an incredibly difficult game.”
“They were very organised and defended very well. We deserved the victory.”
“It feels overwhelming, it was a sensational evening, you can only imagine something like this in your dreams to beat a champion from a country,” said Coach Peter Takaro.
“I am very proud with my boys and I thank them for doing so well in this tour in Noumea.” We won the friendship cup and now beat New Caledonia club Champions.”
Player of the match last night goes to Tupuji Imere midfielder Barry Mansale.
