Nalkutan beat Medics, qualify for OFC Champions League

Tafea Football Association champion, Nalkutan FC has booked their place in the OFC Champions League 2018 after beating neighbor Medics FC 2-1 today at Luganville Stadium in Santo.

Medics were up 1-0 in the first 15 minutes but Nalkutan came back strongly before the end of the first half to draw 1-1.

The second half was like a tug of war as the two teams from South battle hard in the hot sun to see who will go through and the hard work paid off by Nalkutan FC when they hit their second goal in style, 15 minutes before the end of the match.

Nalkutan FC now will represent Vanuatu Football in the OFC Champions League in 2018. They have one year to prepare their team.

Andrew Markia who is the Treasurer of Tafea Football Association said this is a great news for TFA and congratulates Nalkutan FC and Medics FC for an outstanding performance in the VFF TVL National Super League 2016.

“On behalf of all Tafea Football Association clubs, players, coaches and fans we would like to congratulates Nalkutan Fc and Medics for displaying our Southern style of Football and we are really proud of them.” Said Andrew Markia.

“Today we will celebrate the great news and we are ready to welcome both teams back home on the island of Tanna.” Said Andrew Markia.

In the first match today, Vaum United smashed Spirit 011 FC of Torba Province 11-1.
